鈥淭he sense of community and all of the opportunities. I'm part of Symphonic Band and
a tutor at the Writing Center. The community that those things have brought me through
F&M is so valuable.鈥
鈥淔&M met my financial needs while also having the most international diversity and
the kind of resources in the government department that I was looking for.鈥
鈥淚 was specifically looking for a private liberal arts college. I also wanted to get
far away from home [San Jose, Calif.] No regrets!鈥
鈥淚 didn't want to go to a huge university and just be a number and have to fight for
every single opportunity that was out there.鈥
鈥淚 went to a very small high school, so F&M felt like [a place] where I could say
鈥楬i鈥 to everybody who walks through the door.鈥
鈥淚 decided on F&M for its ability to accommodate my financial needs as a first-generation
college student and its amazing earth and environmental science program.鈥
鈥淧eople at F&M want you to succeed, not just academically, but as a whole person.鈥
鈥淚 wanted to go to a small liberal arts college to be the 鈥榖ig fish鈥 in a tiny pond.
This school really aligned with a lot of my values and had the majors I was looking
at.鈥
鈥淭he array of different classes offered. I was able to take lessons and classes in
anything. I鈥檝e taken three language classes 鈥 it was a welcoming environment for me.鈥
